Kikosewin Family Resource Network

Family & Youth Programming

In Cree, Kikosewin means the act of being with family. The Hub is for all family members to grow together. We believe in the importance of family and that children and youth are safe, healthy, and nurtured by their parents or caregivers as “children are a gift from the creator and should be treated as such.”

As an Indigenous Family Resource Network, Kikosewin's Hub offers an array of services, supports and programming for children, youth and families in three core areas:

  • Child Development and Well-being
  • Caregiver Capacity Building (by creating parenting opportunities and experiences to strengthen parenting abilities)
  • Social Connections and Support

Programs & Services

  • The Family Resource Centre is comprised of a parent mentor and an early childhood development worker. Our Parent Mentor program facilitates Indigenous programming for parents and caregivers. These programs focus on the 4 quadrants of the Medicine Wheel designed to support emotional, spiritual, physical and mental wellness in a holistic way.
  • Home Visitation offers one-on-one support to parents in their homes, with a special focus on expectant moms and children from birth to 6 years old. Resources and connections will also be provided for children aged 7-12 living in the home. The program's trained home visitors will share information, offer parenting tips, and provide support to help parents achieve their goals of becoming the best parents they can be.
  • The Early Childhood Development Program provides children 0-12 years of age and their families the opportunity to engage in quality activities to support growth and development in a fun, interactive environment
  • Dad's Engagement and Men’s Support Groups are community programs designed to provide a supportive space for fathers and men in general. These groups aim to engage men in meaningful conversations and activities that promote personal growth, family bonding, and community involvement.
  • Relentless Connectors assist families in achieving their personal goals. The program helps participants build a supportive network while working to enhance and strengthen their parent-child relationships. With Relentless Connectors, you are in control of your own life, goals, plan, and team.
  • Youth Engagement Services provides safe and welcoming programs for young individuals to learn, grow, and connect with others. Our emphasis is on Indigenous culture and content, alongside building positive relationships, so youth can overcome obstacles and prepare for a successful future.

All programs are voluntary and self-referred.
