EDMONTON AB– On March 7, 2022 Bent Arrow began a public campaign to raise $75 000 which was needed to build a Ceremonial Building. The building will be used for Circles, Sweats, feasts, and teachings from Knowledge Keepers and Elders. It will be open to both Indigenous and Non-Indigenous peoples. It will become a central gathering place in the Parkdale Neighbourhood, that represents healing, growth and community. It will be an active home for reconciliation.

Bent Arrow wishes to thank Edmonton Community Foundation for donating $58 000 to our campaign. This donation brings us to our goal of $75 000. We also extend our gratitude to over 175 people who donated over the past few weeks and Leading-Edge Physiotherapy. Who matched our first $5000 raised.

We are excited for donors to see the fruits of their giving very soon. Construction of the building will hopefully begin by the summer, with it being open 3-4 months after that. This would not have been possible without public and private support.

The $75 000 will be added to our current funding of $150 000, which was donated by: CN Community Board, TD Bank, Sherritt International, Boys & Girls Clubs Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton & Area Society, Westwood Unitarian and Dexterra Group. The original $150 000 was raised pre-pandemic, due to soaring costs of goods and materials Bent Arrow needed to raise the additional $75 000.
