Job description
Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society is a non-profit organization which provides unique programs and services to Edmonton’s urban Aboriginal population. Our Society was incorporated in Alberta in 1994 assisting Aboriginal children/youth and families in the Greater Edmonton Region.
The IT Administrator works closely with senior leadership, to ensure that our agency is promoted effectively to other agencies and community at large. This position has a wide variety of responsibilities and duties to ensure that our objectives are met.
Responsibilities
- Implements marketing campaigns and promotion strategies to enhance the organization brand, build awareness for the cause, and strengthen social impact and financial aspirations.
- Develop and deliver integrated communications campaigns across public relations, advertising, direct marketing, digital and social media
- Support fundraising, grant writing, donor relations, and stewardship
- Fosters strong, long-term relationships with donors, collaborators, sponsors and community stakeholders
- Prepares report on progress, budget, receipts, and expenditures related to fundraising and marketing management.
- Develops strategic marketing, communications and media plans aimed to further Bent Arrow’s vision and strategic goal
- Coordinate media engagement and requests
- Build relationships with key media personalities or organizations to promote Bent Arrow’s community profile.
- Promoting existing programs to increase involvement from communities not using our services.
- Develop new partnerships to enhance agency programming and participation
- Attend Monthly Managers, Quality Improvement, C5 Communications and relevant meetings
- Pull media analytics and data, to complete a monthly communications report
- Support and supervise communications personnel
- Expectation and accountabilities of this position may be revised, as necessary.
Qualification Requirements
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in communications, journalism, public relations or marketing, supplemented by related work experience
- 2-4 years’ experience working knowledge with marketing and communications.
- Proven experience in delivering effective and engaging communications.
- Experience in a not-for-profit environment considered an asset.
- Understanding of social media and social media analytics tools
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with media, members, peers, and stakeholders.
- Ability to balance priorities and multiple projects.
- Must have a vehicle and valid driver’s license.
- Must provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector and Intervention Record Check
Salary and Benefits
- Competitive salary $60,500
- Paid sick and wellness days after 3 months’ probation (pro-rated)
- Extended Health Benefit (50/50 cost sharing) after 6 months’ employment.
- Working approximately 34.5 hours per week; some evenings and weekends required
