Group home Worker (Overnight Awake Relief Position)

Education: Completion of high school; Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training. 

Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.) Child and Youth Care worker (CCW/CYW) Diploma; Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma; Community Support Worker (CSW) Diploma; Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST); Medication Administration Certificate. 

Experience: 7 months to less than a year. 

Work setting: Group Home 

Type of Community or Social Service: Early intervention programming for at-risk youth. 

Specific Skills: 

Obtain information and prepare reports or case histories; Appraise client’s needs or eligibility for specific services; Assess clients relevant skill strengths and development needs; Provide suicide and crisis intervention; Implement behavior management programs; Conduct individual and group counselling sessions; Provide personal services support to persons with special needs.

Administrative and office activities; housekeeping activities and cleaning; food preparation. Security and Safety Bondable; Confidential security clearance; Criminal record check; Child welfare check; Driver’s validity license check; Driving record check (Abstract). Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities fast paced environment. 

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation; Own Vehicle; Vehicle supplied by employer; willing to travel regularly; Valid Driver’s License. 

Work location Information: work in employers/client’s home. Ability to supervise 6 people.
