Employment Resource Navigator
Job Description
The following is a job description for the Employment Resource Navigator with Journey to Success Employment Program within Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society.
This is a full time in office position that requires you to be knowledgeable and understanding of the Indigenous community, current work opportunities in Alberta. The expectation is that the Resource Navigator creates as safe and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable accessing employment related services.
The Employment Resource Navigator greets all Resource Clients at the main Bent Arrow office offering support with:
- Career coaching-moral support
- Community information and referrals
- Help filling in documents
- Supported job search
- One-on-one workshops such as; resume building, basic computer training, interview skills
- Support clients with resume writing
- Updated Job Board
- Assist Clients with faxing, photocopying, setting up emails
- Post relevant current events such as job fairs or community events in the Resource Centre
- Provide current labour market information
- Work effectively with other agency staff in providing employment related supports for the Indigenous community
- Help and assist students while they continue job search
- Strategies to overcome barriers
Administrative Responsibilities
- Process and screen all applications for the employment programs and set up interviews with potential clients which includes conducting a service needs determination assessment and research mobius notes
- Responsible for tracking all clients that access the Centre and what services were accessed
- Provide month end stats to the Team Lead
- Order office supplies
- Ordering safety ticket training and setting up clients as needed
- Invoice and billing
- Printing workshop books for staff
- Provide one-on-one career counseling
- Create classroom calendars and schedule
- Support team members as required
- Participate in staff meetings
Credentials
- Strong computer skills using all applications of Microsoft office suite
- Experience with Office 365 an asset
- Strong knowledge of Resume writing
- Ability to work alone unsupervised
- Effective writing and communication skills
- A combination of education and or experience will be considered willing to train the right candidate
- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector and Child Welfare Check (IRC) required
Any other duties that are requested by the Senior manager or Team Lead
Salary and Benefits
- Salary plus monthly auto allowance.
- Paid sick and wellness days after 3 months’ probation (pro-rated)
- Extended Health Benefit (50/50 cost sharing) after 6 months’ employment.
- Working approximately 34.5 hours per week
