Employment Program Facilitator

The Journey to Success is an employment program that is designed to assist Indigenous people 18 years and older, with finding and maintaining employment. This program prepares and certifies Indigenous people, so they have the skills and certifications required for employment. 

This program consists of 12 weeks in-class with a 6-month follow-up period that offers assisted job search and more. 


  • Facilitate program courses content based on the program outline.
  • Submit a detailed case plan, outlining the course, to the program Team Leader prior to start of the first course, and any changes to the upcoming courses.
  • Record and submit attendance sheet, contact notes, student profiles; Follow-up with absent students.
  • Update the Team Lead daily as to the students’ progress.
  • Assist the students with accessing community resources – i.e. housing, daycare, etc.
  • At the end of each course, provide a report to the program Team Leader, outlining the students’ progress, challenges and successes.
  • Process applications to the program; Complete interviews with potential students
  • Update and manage the Facilitator’s Binder
  • Keep in regular contact with students up to their 180 day follow up
  • Keep student files up to date with necessary documents including up to date contact notes

Qualification Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Human Services (equivalencies will be considered) or Diploma in Life Skills Coaching.
  • Two-year related experience in facilitating.
  • Strong advanced preparation skills; exceptional organizational skills and self starter
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer functions such as database reporting, word processing, Internet, and email.
  • Conflict resolution skills and strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Active listener; ability to establish a psychologically safe environment for sharing with unbiased objectivity.
  • Must provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector and Intervention Record Check (within a 6-month period from date of completion).

 Salary and Benefits

  • Competitive monthly salary.
  • Paid sick and wellness days after 3 months’ probation (pro-rated)
  • Extended Health Benefit (50/50 cost sharing) after 6 months’ employment.
  • Working approximately 34.5 hours per week
