COYOTE KIDS SUMMER CAMP COUNSELLOR
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist Camp Coordinators and Indigenous Programs Coordinator with daily activities for campers at overnight and day camp.
· Provide attentive supervision during assigned activities.
· Establish relationships with campers based on genuine interest and mutual respect.
· Participate in smudging, sweat lodges, medicine picking and other cultural activities alongside the campers.
· Provide a positive role model for campers by exhibiting an upbeat, cooperative, and friendly attitude always.
· Knowledgeable about the objectives and rules of the Coyote Kids program
· Help campers learn and follow rules to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
· Be a problem–solver but ask for help when necessary.
· Be punctual, organized, and follow directions.
REQUIREMENTS
· Must be a high school or Post Secondary student and returning to studies in Fall 2027 and be aged 15-30 years old as per requirements of Canada Summer Jobs Program.
· Able to work overnight summer camps and daycamp in July and August 2026.
· Must have work/or volunteer experience working with children and youth
· Strong communication skills to effectively interact with campers and other camp staff.
· Must have a clear Criminal record check and Child intervention check, if over age 18 (must be within 6 months) before start of employment.
· Successful candidates start employment on Monday June 29, 2026, to end date of August 21, 2026, for 8 weeks.
· Must have own transportation to and from work.
