Job description

COYOTE KIDS SUMMER CAMP COUNSELLOR

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assist Camp Coordinators and Indigenous Programs Coordinator with daily activities for campers.

· Provide attentive supervision during assigned activities.

· Establish relationships with campers based on genuine interest and mutual respect.

· Participate in smudging, sweat lodges, medicine picking and other cultural activities alongside the campers.

· Provide a positive role model for campers by exhibiting an upbeat, cooperative, and friendly attitude always.

· Knowledgeable about the objectives and rules of the Coyote Kids program

· Help campers learn and follow rules to ensure a safe and healthy environment.

· Be a problem–solver but ask for help when necessary.

· Be punctual, organized, and follow directions.

  • $20.00 per hour.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be a Secondary or Post Secondary student and returning to studies in Fall 2025 and be aged 15-30 years old as per requirements of Canada Summer Jobs Program.

· Work or volunteer experience working with children and youth aged 6-12 years old.

· Knowledgeable of the Indigenous culture and traditions of Cree people of the plains

· Able to work overnight summer camps and be available July 2, 2025, to August 22, 2025, for 8 weeks.

· Must have first aid and emergency procedures to ensure the safety of campers.

· Flexibility and adaptability to handle unexpected situations and changes in the schedule.

· Must have a clear Criminal record check and Child intervention check (must be within 6 months) at interview.

· Closing date May 30, 2025.
