Coyote Kids Summer Camp Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Reports to the Indigenous Programs Coordinator of Coyote Pride/Kids.

· Able to communicate regularly with Indigenous Program Coordinator, Supervisors, Partners, and Stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns.

· Responsible for programming of the Coyote Kids Summer camp; receiving registrations, planning the daily activities for the children and youth; for e.g., arts and crafts, cultural activities, teachings, and sports programming.

· Supervising the children and youth in daily activities, including overnight camps

· Ensuring the children are following hygiene every day, organizing sleeping arrangements and cleanliness of the camp.

· Develop and implement camp programs and schedules to ensure a fun and engaging experience for campers.

· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and emergency procedures.

· Knowledgeable of the Indigenous culture and traditions of Cree people of the plains

· Maintain accurate records and reports on camp attendance and activities.

· Plan and carry out Indigenous Culture activities, including smudging, recreational, athletic, fitness and sports activities.

· Assemble supplies and sports and game equipment.

· Instruct groups and individuals in arts, crafts and similar activities and lead groups and individuals in recreational or leisure programs.

· Attend to youth and children with special needs.

  • $25.00 per hour.

Requirements:

· Must be a Post Secondary student and returning to studies in Fall 2025 and be aged 18-30 years old as per requirements of Canada Summer Jobs Program.

· Able to work overnight summer camps and be available from July 2, 2025 to August 22, 2025 for 8 weeks.

· Experience in organizing and managing summer camps for children and youth and work or volunteer experience working with children and youth

· Must have first aid certification and emergency procedures to ensure the safety of campers.

· Strong communication skills to effectively interact with campers, parents, and staff.

· Leadership skills to guide and motivate a team of camp counselors and staff.

· Must have a clear Criminal record check and Child intervention check (must be within 6 months) at interview.
