The Family Resource Network offers a wide range of cultural programming for children, youth and their families. Bent Arrow’s Family Resource Network will provide prevention and early intervention support to Indigenous families in Alberta—particularly in North/East/Central Edmonton. Although the Centre will have an Indigenous focus, any family can receive services provided by the FRN. The Centre will offer home visitation, dad engagement, parent education and support, early childhood programming, relentless connectors, and youth support.

 

Responsibilities

·         Act as a coordinator of incoming calls and e-mails.

·         Converse with Intake coordinator to match new referrals with appropriate resources or programs

·         Provide interim support and information referrals to participants via phone or email

·         Provide day to day administrative support to the FRN

·         Answering and directing telephone calls, and taking detailed telephone messages

·         Providing information to the public on the programs & services offered by the FRN

·         Typing correspondence and other documents as needed.

·         Sort incoming/outgoing mail

·         Attend monthly supervision with supervisor

·         Attend staff meetings and take minutes

·         Keep active list of inventories of supplies and resources needed by staff

·         Actively participate in the cultural events provided at the FRN for staff and families

·         Participate in all Community projects held at Bent Arrow as a part of the team

 

Qualification Requirements

·         Office administration diploma, equivalencies will be considered.

·         Minimum of 2 years’ experience, a blend of administrative and human service experience preferred

·         Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Outlook Calendar, Power Point & Excel software applications.

·         Knowledge of multi-line telephone system and the ability to multitask

·         Excellent collaborative skills; knowledge of Indigenous cultures an asset.

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Excellent note and record keeping

·         Must provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector and Intervention Record Check (within a 6-month period from date of completion).

 

Salary and Benefits

·         Competitive salary and work 34.5 hours per week

·         Paid sick and wellness days after 3 months’ probation (pro-rated)
